The heart of the conference season has arrived. Every team in the Big Ten is playing twice in conference this weekend (and for the next three weekends afterward). The top of the conference is playing in a series of matches that will put several teams under considerable pressure. Wisconsin, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Illinois are facing each other in an almost round-robin tournament for leadership in the Big Ten. Northwestern and Illinois will undergo the same tough test: two matches on the road against Minnesota and league-leading Wisconsin.
Ohio State is back up to #2 in the latest ITA national rankings, while Wisconsin is up to #30. Both OSU and Virginia had two solid wins over the past weekend. Wake Forest stays #1. It bears noting that #1 Wake and #3 Virginny meet in Winston-Salem on Sunday -- a huge match in the ACC, if not the nation.
