Last Week's Results, April 10-16

#2 Ohio State remains Big Ten leader with a record of 9-0, clinching a tie for the regular season title at minimum. They had solid wins over Minnesota 6-1 and Wisconsin 6-1 at home last week.

#28 Illinois moved up into a second-place tie with a record of 7-2. They got a big win over Michigan 4-2 Saturday and then took down Michigan State 7-0 on Sunday, both matches on the road.

#14 Michigan dropped to 7-2 in conference, tied for second place. They lost to Illinois 2-4, but then won a close match against Northwestern 4-3 at home. The NW match came down to #2 singles: Alex Knight defeated Konrad Zieba 6-0 in the third set.

#29 Wisconsin is now 6-3 in the Big Ten. They defeated Penn State 7-0 in a strong showing but lost to Ohio State 1-6 on the road last week.

#21 Northwestern also stands at 6-3 in the conference. They won over Michigan State 7-0 but then lost to Michigan 3-4 in a very close match on the road.

Penn State stands at 5-4 in conference play. They lost to Wisconsin 0-7 and defeated Minnesota 4-3 in a close match at home. The MN match came down to #1 singles. In that match, Constant De La Bassatiere of PSU defeated Matic Spec of MN 6-3 in the third set. PSU also defeated Monmouth 7-0 Sunday.

Purdue is up to 5-4 in conference. They won over Iowa 5-2 and Nebraska 7-0 at home last week. PU also defeated Eastern Kentucky 6-1.

#31 Minnesota fell to 4-5 in conference. They lost to Ohio State 1-6 and then to Penn State 3-4 on the road in a close match.

Indiana is also 4-5 in the Big Ten. They defeated Nebraska 7-0 and Iowa 4-1 at home.

Iowa is now 1-8 in the conference. They lost to Purdue 2-5 and Indiana 1-4 on the road.

Michigan State is 0-9 in the Big Ten. They lost to Northwestern 0-7 and Illinois 0-7 at home.

Nebraska is also 0-9 in conference. They lost to Indiana 0-7 and Purdue 0-7 on the road.

On the national scene last week, the only significant match for the nation's top five was a Big 12 contest between #5 Oklahoma State and #8 Texas. OSU won 4-1.
